After graduating from the London College of Fashion, Deborah worked with international brands such as Alexander McQueen and Sass & Bide before launching her
Her workshop; “Starting Your Own Fashion Label and Building Your Business Plan” has been carefully designed to offer an engaging step-by-step guide to setting up a fashion label in the Middle East. Crucial general subjects such as designing a collection, marketing your work, clothing and product manufacturing and being savvy with finance will be covered as well as more region-specific topics, legal advice, and distribution.
Deborah’s knowledge combined with inspiring guest speakers will offer real value to participants seriously thinking about creating their own label. Social media guru, Sai Manzano, more commonly known as @thesandgypsy, will guide the participants on how to successfully build a brand online and develop a strong social media following.
Dutch fashion stylist, Samantha Francis (@styleisnecessity), will speak about how to translate a brand to the public via Social Media; from a stylist perspective.
Frankie Hales, Head of Lifestyle PR at Al Tayer and Emma Norström, founder of Marketing & Communications agency Skandi Studios will tackle the hot topics surrounding PR. With over 25 years of experience in fashion and beauty, the duo will divulge the importance of brand strategy, brand tactics and give an insight on how to position your brand to match your desired perception.
Additionally, participants will get the chance to have a one-on-one counseling session by appointment, after the course, with Deborah herself.

Guest Speaker Bio’s:
Samantha is a Dutch fashion stylist who has worked with some of the biggest names in retail such as; Bulgari, Bloomingdale’s and Harvey Nichols. She currently styles fashion editorials, designing and producing set designs for global TV-commercials and advertising campaigns for titles such as Vogue Arabia, Grazia Luxury, Marie Claire, Chanel and Dior.
She also teaches fashion history, branding and personal styling at FAD Institute.
Samantha recently took on the role as Creative Director for Dutch-owned agency, ACES OF SPACE.
After gaining a BA (Hons) in Journalism at the University of Lincoln, Frankie started her PR journey in London before moving to Dubai in 2014. Now working on Lifestyle brands in PR at Al Tayer, Frankie has a wealth of PR experience across lifestyle, luxury, interiors, and beauty categories.
Alongside her managerial role at Al Tayer, she has recently launched Shimmering Sands, a contemporary lifestyle-digital platform catered for expat women in Dubai.
Emma is the founder of SKANDI STUDIOS, a Marketing and Communication agency which focuses on clients within fashion and lifestyle industries.
After a successful career in Stockholm and Amsterdam, working with global brands such as Nike, MTV and McGregor, Emma arrived in the Middle East in 2014. One of the first campaigns she developed in the region, for D K N Y, was shortlisted to the EFFIE MENA Awards and the MEPRA Awards.
In June 2015 Emma was one of five PR professionals on the panel talks at the Arab Luxury World Conference, discussing the rise of strategic PR in the region.
Sai Mansano is the blogger and creative force behind @thesandgypsy – Working in the UAE region across all aspects of digital marketing for fashion and lifestyle clients, such as Tory Burch, Armani Exchange abd Bebe, Sai has a wealth of experience in making social and digital media work for brands, as well as creating key strategic content.
